ICD-10 Coding to meet PDGM requirements is challenging as errors will affect acceptance of claims and ultimately reimbursement. ICD-10 Coding requirements change on an annual basis and to be compliant, Coders and Clinicians need to remain updated on the new rules for accurate and proficient coding.  Join Jennifer Warfield, BSN, HCS-D, COS-C as she presents very hands-on information on coding guidelines specific to home health and walks attendees through scenarios designed to assist the coder in making the correct code selection and apply the applicable rules.

Part 1—Tuesday, February 23, 7 am-10am PST

  • Identify and list noteworthy or changed codes, conventions and guidelines for 2021
  • Recognize acceptable PDGM primary diagnosis codes, questionable Encounter Codes, and proper sequencing in PDGM

Part 2—Thursday, February 25, 7 am-10am PST

  • Discuss and practice coding Infectious and Parasitic Diseases 
  • Discuss and practice coding chronic conditions: Diabetes, Neoplasm, Circulatory and Respiratory diagnoses 

Part 3—Tuesday, March 2, 7 am-10am PST

  • Discuss and practice coding mental and nervous conditions
  • Discuss and practice coding GU and GU diagnoses and Signs and Symptoms
  • Discuss and practice coding Musculoskeletal diagnoses and Signs and Symptoms

Part 4—Thursday, March 4, 7 am-10am PST

  • Discuss and practice coding T codes, S codes and Z codes.

PRESENTER
Jennifer Warfield, BSN, HCS-D, COS-C
As a well-known homecare coding and OASIS specialist with extensive nursing experience, Jennifer is an informational ally for hundreds of home health agencies across the country. Her passion for being an educational resource keeps her travelling to conduct training sessions and speaking engagements at numerous homecare conferences on important industry topics, including coding, OASIS and documentation.

Jennifer served as educational director at one of the leading home health software companies in the country for 17 years and certified as an official ICD-10 trainer. Jennifer received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Home Care Coding Specialist – Diagnosis certification from the Board of Medical Specialty Coding and earned her Certificate for OASIS Specialist-Clinical from the OASIS Certificate & Competency Board. She is author of two coding guidebooks which include “Tips, Tricks & Tidbits for Home Health Professionals”.

Recording
Registered participants will be sent a recording link following each presentation.  Recordings will be available for 2 weeks following the final webinar for review or follow-up on missed portions of the offering.
